L’Associazione WWF Sannio che gestisce l’Oasi dell’invaso di Campolattaro, ha ottenuto, in partenariato con l’Azienda Speciale ASEA, ente gestore della diga, ha ottenuto un finanziamento di circa 400mila euro per il progetto ‘Miglioramenti dell’efficienza ecologica e della biodiversità degli ecosistemi forestali nel sito Natura 2000 IT8020015 Invaso del Fiume Tammaro’ (finanziamento presentato nell’ambio della misura 8.5.1 del Programma di Sviluppo Rurale Campania 2014-2020).
Il progetto, che ricade interamente nell’Oasi, nell’area più prossima alla diga, tende ad incrementare la biodiversità e favorire una migliore fruizione per il pubblico. Gli interventi programmati
riforestazione con piante autoctone di una fascia larga da 50 a 100 metri;
ripristino ‘livelletta’ nel tratto tra l’ingresso della diga al centro visite dell’oasi WWF (circa 1,5 Km) con sistemazione del fondo affinché garantisca la fruibilità del percorso natura in sicurezza, soprattutto per i portatori di handicap, pulizia della vegetazione invadente, risagomatura della cunetta e apposizione di una staccionata;

piantumazione negli impluvi più importanti (canali) di piante autoctone che resistono all’immersione e alla permanenza fuori dall’acqua, affinché impediscano di trasportare terreno o altro materiale nel fondale del lago durante gli innalzamenti e abbassamenti dell’acqua.

Si tratta di un’importante e concreta iniziativa per la protezione naturalistica e la valorizzazione turistica dell’invaso e dell’oasi naturalistica, gestita dal Wwf Sannio da circa 20 years, che permetterà di sviluppare le potenzialità dell’area in modo innovativo, di fruire e vivere contesti naturali di rara bellezza e di ricca biodiversità. Il progetto rappresenta una concreta opportunità per la riscoperta della civiltà appenninica, delle aree interne, dei contesti “secondari”ponendosi come un concreto passo, foriero e confidente, per la ripresa postpandemica. Il presidente dell’Azienda Speciale Giovanni Mastrocinque ha sottolineato: “Questo progetto rappresenta solo una prima tappa, certamente significativa, di un percorso che il WWF Sannio e l’Asea intendono effettuare, con l’obiettivo di alimentare un circuito virtuoso di turismo non consumistico e sostenibile del territorio dell’invaso di Campolattaro”.
